Although Jie Ming's Law-Crystallization Domain had already reached a state where even a failed fusion would not endanger his own safety, he still spent several days scouring almost all the relevant information in the Star Ring Federation's public database regarding the fusion of Law-Crystallization Domain with planar origin.
From the promotion guide for sixth-level wizards to the plane management manual written by seventh-level wizards; from experimental reports inside Norn Workshop to the standard operating procedures for planar fusion issued by the Star Ring Federation's military department—he read every piece he could find, page by page.
These materials were all very detailed. The preparations to be made before fusion, the risks during fusion, how to stabilize the planar origin after fusion, how to handle law backlash, how to prevent desynchronization between the spiritual sea and the planar origin—each item was clearly laid out, even with emergency plans listed methodically.
But there was one question that none of the materials ever addressed directly.
After fusing with the planar origin, how exactly do wizards "see" other planes?
The materials only repeatedly mentioned one thing: all planes reclaimed by Wizard Civilization and having undergone basic transformation would emit a special wave signal outward through planar-level arrays. That signal could only be received by other planar-level arrays of Wizard Civilization, identifying "this is a plane occupied by Wizard Civilization." But from beginning to end, the materials only described this one type of wave signal.
If there was only one type of wave signal, it was sufficient for distinguishing friend from foe. But Jie Ming had another point he couldn't understand:
In the boundless Endless Chaotic Void, how does one distinguish which is the origin plane of Wizard Civilization and which is an ordinary conquered plane? Although time and space in the Endless Chaotic Void were chaotically disordered, Wizard Civilization generally employed a method of artificially constructing relative coordinates for cross-void searches.
But to construct relative coordinates, there must be a clear initial coordinate point—a benchmark origin that all planes could use as a reference.
Undoubtedly, the origin plane of Wizard Civilization naturally possessed this coordinate function.
However, after flipping through data for several days, he simply could not find how to confirm this initial coordinate point.
After confirming that he hadn't missed any content in the materials, Jie Ming decisively opened his Magic Net terminal and initiated a communication request.
A few seconds later, the light screen lit up.
Viola's figure appeared in the image. She was sitting in a wizard tower that looked like it was half-renovated, with a row of runic pipes still flashing in debugging mode behind her, several energy conduits exposed, and even construction materials yet to be cleaned up piled nearby. Her silver-gray hair was casually tied back, clearly indicating she had been interrupted in the middle of work by his communication.
She first glanced at Jie Ming, then put the tool in her hand aside and habitually curled her lips into a smile.
"Junior," she said in a light tone, drawing out the ending slightly, "what troublesome question have you found this time?"
Jie Ming didn't beat around the bush and directly asked, "Senior, I want to ask you something. None of the materials mention how to distinguish the origin plane of Wizard Civilization from a bunch of ordinary planes. Or is the origin coordinate of the coordinate system someone else?"
After hearing this, Viola's expression was very calm, as if she had expected him to ask this question.
"You're only asking now." She let out a soft laugh, her tone carrying a hint of teasing or perhaps approval. "It seems you are ready to attempt your first planar origin fusion. Not bad. The origin coordinate of the coordinate system is indeed the origin plane of Wizard Civilization, but the origin plane doesn't need special marking."
Jie Ming's brow twitched slightly. "No marking needed?"
"Correct." Viola raised her eyes, her gaze falling beyond the light screen as if recalling something. "The origin plane of Wizard Civilization is quite conspicuous. After you fuse with the planar origin, just 'see' the most conspicuous one, and that's it."
Then, as if she had thought of something else, she revealed a mischievous smile and added slowly, "Oh, and when fusing with a planar origin for the first time, remember to lower your perception intensity."
On the other end of the communication, Jie Ming was silent for a moment.
Lower perception intensity?
Typically, after fusing with planar origin, a wizard's perception of elements becomes extremely acute. The vast elemental turbulence in the Endless Chaotic Void becomes the basic background of their vision. According to the materials, at that time, when a wizard perceives the Endless Chaotic Void, it would feel like seeing a gorgeous and distorted array of colored light points, each point representing a current of elemental turbulence.
Wizards, searching for other planes within that chaotic background, must look for orderly light points that slightly differ from the background. The higher the order, the clearer the light point, and the more stable the plane's law structure.
By that logic, perception should naturally be turned up as high as possible.
Yet Viola said to lower perception.
Jie Ming didn't immediately argue but asked, "Why?"
Viola looked at him, her smile deepening, but she didn't answer directly. Instead, she said vaguely, "Just do as I say. Once you see it, you'll understand why I said that."
She clearly didn't intend to reveal the whole answer during the communication.
"I'll remind you of one thing," she added, her tone more serious than before. "Don't crank perception to max right away. That thing isn't meant to be stared at head-on with maximum perception."
Riddler, get out of Gotham!
Jie Ming silently recited a few times, stared at her for a couple of seconds, and nodded. "I understand."
Viola gave a soft "mm," seemingly satisfied with his response, and raised her hand to end the call.
But just before the communication ended, Jie Ming added another question: "Are you sure that seeing the most conspicuous one… will find the origin plane?"
"Yes." Viola answered very crisply. "You'll recognize it at first glance. That thing doesn't need you to search for it; it will barge into your perception on its own."
With that, the communication cut off.
The light screen went dark.
Jie Ming stood in the center of the quiet room, frowning in contemplation.
Seeing the most conspicuous one is it.
Those words sounded simple, yet they carried a sense of extremely confident judgment.
He stood for a moment, then finally chose to trust his senior.
Though Viola liked to be cryptic most of the time, she never joked about his safety in such critical operations. Jie Ming turned and walked to the main control array of the Infernal Sulfur Plane.
Through his Magic Net terminal, he sent a series of instructions to the Black Giant Priests responsible for maintaining the planar-level array.
Soon, the array's power began to rise step by step, and the spatial structure of the entire plane trembled slightly along with it.
The golden core of the planar origin, rotating slowly, emitted a soft and steady glow in the center of the main control room.
After everything was ready, Jie Ming returned to the quiet room.
He stood still and slowly unfolded his Law-Crystallization Domain.
The dark gold domain extended outward from the quiet room. Over the years, the coverage of the Law-Crystallization Domain had reached tens of kilometers. However, considering that after a wizard fused with planar origin, the strength of the crystallized domain would directly affect perception intensity, he did not rashly expand the domain to its limit.
Instead, following Viola's reminder, he actively suppressed the domain's intensity to a very low level.
Then, he manipulated the suppressed domain and, relying on the planar array, slowly probed toward the planar origin.
